Time to Catch Up

A lot has taken place since out last update. We started off the fall with the home going of Laura's dad. It is amazing how life can change in a heart beat. A person you love and a model to so many can be taken so quickly. The Lord took Art on November 4th. We love and miss him.
With grief and joy in came the holidays and it was a whirl wind. Tom's mom and Charleste's (Tom's sister) family came out for thanksgiving and Laura's mom was here for Christmas. It was fun. Each time we had a different couple from the community over for the big meal. One was a new couple to the church from South Carolina and the other was a Mormon couple from up the street (be praying for them as we show them Christ).
Christmas was a hoot. Tom likes to brag about the 17 foot tree he brought home. TJ loved to see the lights come on and expressed his approval with "WOOOOW" as they lit the tree.
New Years was a hoot. Tom got noise maker poppers to bring in the new year. Sydney couldn't wait so at 6:15 p.m. December 31st the new year was official in the Olson home. Then it was off to bed. God was gracious.

Snow came like mad at the beginning of December and in true Olson form we found the longest sled run. The kids are naturals. Sydney was off on her own in a heart beat and TJ is getting the hang of things but loves the snow. Sydney has taken up snow shoeing. Her shoes look like the feet of Big foot. So now we have tracks of the moster all over.

The church is growing as our little town shrinks. The recession has hurt Pagosa big. Much like Arrowhead the economy is building and tourism. Both are way down. Our church however is being blessed. Christmas Eve service we were at 250 plus. That is twice as large as last year. The new music and drama teams are fantastic.

We are moving in the new building on Valentines Day. Yes we truly are. It is very exciting. Sydney can't wait. Heck she was the first person to use the potties at the church. What a big girl.

Please continue to pray as we reach the lost and minister to those in Pagosa Springs. Also pray for those hurting in Haiti. Having spent sometime there and know fellow Christians in Port-Au-Prince we feel for them. Our church also has a school we support and send teams to twice a year. All are accounted for but their families have been affected.

Blessings and love to you all.
