Winter Time

Have you ever been in a place where you felt cut off from the world? You know the place I'm talking about. Think of Alaska in winter; think of Cape Horn in July; think of the missed moon shot of Apollo 13, are you thinking? That's Pagosa Springs in February.
We Ice Fish: Sydney caught her first two Perch sitting on 18 inches of ice in the middle of a lake. She liked the colors, yellow and orange.

We play on the Frozen Play set: Tom snow blows the play set out so the kids have a place to play outside. When you have over 5 feet of snow little ones can't move in it. So we move it. It's like having a solid fence around your yard.

It's not all fun and games here. We had to spend 3 days in Santa Fe. Trader Joe's and Target were the highlights. Sydney loved the pool and the hot tub.

It is looking like we may have to put Suki down. The Vet said that we could do it now and freeze her then bury her in the spring. She said to just leave her outside in a place animals wouldn't get her. AHHH Pagosa living.

TJ has moved to a big boy bed. Why, cuz he's a stud and we are getting ready for our new home.

We will be moving to our new home in May. We found a wonderful new place to live which is very close to the new church. Tom will be able to ride his bike to church and snowshoe to it in the winter. This is a huge answer to prayer. For those of you who don't realize, Pagosa is not a cheap place to hang your hat. We had a heating bill of $600 last month and that's just the start.

But we are blessed. Our home is on 4 wooded acres very close to town. It was the first house we visited when we came to look at the church. Laura said then, as we walked out, that the house was her dream home. God answers prayer!

The church building is ready to open and it looks great. We are waiting on the city's approval to occupy it. Please pray for this new phase in our ministry in Pagosa. People are coming and our church is filling with new families. We had our first problem with kids being too loud last week. One elder said "that's a problem I'm happy to hear we have." They have wanted young families for years and now they are coming.
